Grapevine is adding another notable restaurant to its growing dining scene, and this one comes from an established Dallas restaurant group.

Vidorra, the modern Mexican restaurant concept from Dallas-based Milkshake Concepts, is scheduled to open August 31 at 700 W. State Highway 114 in Grapevine. The opening gives Grapevine residents another dining option along the State Highway 114 corridor and marks Vidorra’s first location in Tarrant County.

For people who have been watching this restaurant project since it was first announced, the August 31 opening date is the big update.

Vidorra Is Bringing Its Modern Mexican Concept to Grapevine

Vidorra is known for taking traditional Mexican dishes and presenting them with a contemporary approach, along with handcrafted cocktails and an energetic atmosphere.

The restaurant’s Grapevine location will serve many of the dishes that have become associated with the Vidorra brand. The menu is expected to include aguachile, house-made guacamole, street tacos, sizzling fajitas, and enchiladas.

One of the more distinctive menu items is the Parrillada en Fuego, an assortment of grilled meats and accompaniments served tableside in a sizzling 400-degree molcajete.

For drinks, Vidorra Grapevine will offer handcrafted margaritas, premium tequilas, and seasonal cocktails. The beverage lineup will also include the Soft Serve Margarita, which combines a frozen margarita with creamy soft serve.

There will also be weekday Happy Hour specials featuring margaritas, beer, wine, and select appetizers.

Weekend Brunch Will Be Part of the Grapevine Location

Vidorra Grapevine will not just be focused on dinner and drinks.

The restaurant will also offer weekend brunch, with menu items including chilaquiles, breakfast tacos, pan dulce French toast, handcrafted brunch cocktails, and tableside mimosas.

That gives the new restaurant several different opportunities to attract customers throughout the week, from weekday Happy Hour to dinner, weekend brunch, and special occasions.

Vidorra’s First Tarrant County Location

The Grapevine opening is significant for the Dallas-based restaurant group because it represents Vidorra’s first location in Tarrant County.

Vidorra originally opened in Deep Ellum in 2018. Since then, the concept has expanded to additional locations across the Metroplex, including Addison, Rockwall, and Grand Prairie, along with a location in Nashville.

The concept is owned by Dallas-based hospitality group Milkshake Concepts and owners Imran Sheikh, James Faller, and Asim Sheikh.

For Grapevine, this means the city is gaining an established restaurant concept that has already expanded beyond its original Deep Ellum location.

What Will Vidorra Grapevine Look Like?

The new Grapevine restaurant is planned with a design that fits the brand’s energetic atmosphere.

According to the announcement, the space will feature lush greenery, stone sculptures, warm lighting, and expansive bar seating. The restaurant will also include private event spaces.

The location itself has an interesting restaurant history. Before Vidorra, the property was home to Hoffbrau Steak & Grill House, which closed in February 2024. Before Hoffbrau, the building had been home to Brick House Tavern & Tap and, further back, Romano’s Macaroni Grill.

That history makes the Vidorra opening another chapter for a restaurant property along Grapevine’s busy State Highway 114 corridor.

My Take: Another Notable Addition to Grapevine

From my perspective as a Dallas-area Realtor, I pay attention to restaurant openings like this because local amenities are part of what makes an area attractive to residents, visitors, and potential homebuyers.

I would not look at one restaurant opening and claim it automatically changes the real estate market. That would be an overreach. But continued investment in dining, entertainment, retail, and other amenities can contribute to the overall appeal and identity of a community.

Grapevine already has a strong identity as a North Texas destination, and adding an established Dallas restaurant concept like Vidorra gives residents another option for dining, brunch, cocktails, and private events.

The fact that this will be Vidorra’s first Tarrant County location also makes the opening worth watching.
