That puts the future Rodeo Goat in a highly visible location along one of the major transportation corridors serving the growing North Texas suburbs.

What Is Coming to Sloan Corners?

Rodeo Goat is only one piece of the larger Sloan Corners development.

Other food and entertainment concepts planned for the Bravo Park area include Mexican Bar Company, Flat Grounds Coffee and City Futsal.

Sloan Corners is being developed as a major mixed-use destination with office, residential, retail, dining, parks, trails and other outdoor amenities. The first phases in Allen are planned to include more than 180,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and nearly 4,000 multifamily residences, with future office development also planned.

That combination is important because successful mixed-use developments are often about more than adding individual businesses. The goal is to create places where people can live, work, eat, shop, and spend time without having to leave the development.

What Is Rodeo Goat Known For?

Rodeo Goat is known for its house-ground burgers, hand-punched fries, craft beer, and casual industrial-style atmosphere.

The restaurant offers more than 20 signature burger selections, including the Bodacious Burger, Blue Jeans Burger, and Inspector Clouseau. Its drink menu includes a large selection of mostly Texas craft beers along with signature cocktails.

The restaurant also has a weekday happy hour known as “Rodeo Time,” with food and drink specials.

Rodeo Goat was founded by Dallas restaurateur Shannon Wynne, along with Keith Schlabs and Larry Richardson. Its first location opened in Fort Worth in 2012, followed by a Dallas Design District location.

The brand has since expanded throughout North Texas, with locations in Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, Plano, Addison, Denton, Rockwall, and Cypress Waters, along with a Houston location.

My Take on the New Allen Location

In my opinion, Rodeo Goat makes sense for Sloan Corners because it fits the type of local, recognizable restaurant that can help give a new mixed-use development its own identity.

This is also another example of how the Allen and Fairview area continues to evolve beyond traditional suburban retail. Sloan Corners is being planned around a combination of residential, dining, retail, entertainment, and outdoor spaces, and Rodeo Goat adds an established North Texas brand to that mix.

I would not interpret one restaurant announcement as something that will dramatically change Allen real estate values by itself. That would be an overreach. But when you start seeing residential, retail, dining, entertainment, and public-space components come together in one large development, it becomes a more meaningful neighborhood and community-development story.

For homeowners, buyers, and investors watching Allen real estate, Sloan Corners is worth keeping on the radar as the development continues to take shape.

What This Means for Allen and Fairview

The Rodeo Goat announcement adds another piece to the larger growth story happening around Allen, Texas.

Sloan Corners is being envisioned as a destination that connects residential communities with restaurants, retail, office space, recreation, and outdoor amenities. As additional businesses and residential components come online, the development could become an increasingly important part of the Allen and Fairview area.

For residents, that means more options for dining, entertainment, and recreation. For people considering buying a home in Allen or Fairview, it is another development to understand when evaluating the amenities and future plans around different neighborhoods.
