Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is adding another nonstop destination — and this one has strong business implications.

As reported by CultureMap Dallas, Contour Airlines will begin nonstop flights between DFW Airport and El Dorado, Arkansas, on March 16. The schedule includes two daily roundtrips, with additional service on select weekdays and Sundays. Fares begin at $69 one way.

El Dorado may be a smaller market, but it carries economic weight. The city is home to Murphy USA, one of Arkansas’ six Fortune 500 companies, along with significant industrial employers such as Delek US, Lanxess, and LSB Industries. In addition to its corporate presence, El Dorado also offers cultural attractions, including the Murphy Arts District and South Arkansas Arts Center.

A key detail: DFW is currently the only Texas airport served by Contour Airlines. That makes Dallas the primary gateway between North Texas and this Arkansas business hub.

From a broader economic standpoint, expanded nonstop air service reinforces Dallas’ influence across surrounding states. Stronger regional flight networks create faster business travel, tighter corporate relationships, and smoother executive mobility. Over time, those patterns shape relocation trends and housing demand.

As a Dallas Realtor, I pay close attention to infrastructure and transportation developments. Air connectivity is an underrated economic signal. When DFW expands, the ripple effect reaches commercial growth, corporate hiring, and residential real estate activity.

North Texas continues to position itself as a central business powerhouse. Routes like this are part of that larger story.
