Joey Is Coming to Uptown Dallas
A Canadian upscale restaurant chain is coming to Uptown Dallas, adding another high-profile dining option to one of the city’s most active restaurant areas.
Joey is opening a new location called Joey Maple at 2508 Maple Ave., next door to Old Warsaw. The restaurant is known for its globally inspired food, art-lined interiors and premium-casual dining concept.
According to CultureMap Dallas, Joey Maple is expected to open in September. If everything goes according to plan, the restaurant will soft-open with limited hours over Labor Day weekend before celebrating its grand opening on September 10.
For Dallas residents who like following new restaurant openings, Joey Maple is one of the notable additions coming to Uptown Dallas this year.
What Is Joey Maple?
Joey Restaurants is a Canadian “premium casual” restaurant group founded in Calgary in 1992 by Jeff Fuller, who came from a restaurant family.
The concept originally started as a pasta restaurant but has since evolved into a globally themed restaurant group offering fusion dishes from different culinary traditions.
According to the article, Joey now has 36 locations in various Canadian cities, as well as locations in Seattle, California, Miami and Houston.

The restaurant group also operates Local Public Eatery, a sports bar-gastropub concept that opened a Dallas location at 2323 Henderson Ave. in 2024.
Joey Maple will be the company’s second Joey restaurant in Dallas.
Joey Maple Will Be the Second Dallas Location
Dallas already has a Joey location at NorthPark Center. That restaurant opened in January 2024 in the former Seasons 52 space.
According to Joey’s statement reported by CultureMap Dallas, the warm reception the restaurant received in Dallas helped convince the company to expand with another location.
The new Uptown Dallas restaurant will be a standalone location on Maple Avenue.
That gives Joey a presence in two very different Dallas settings: NorthPark Center and the increasingly restaurant-focused Maple Avenue corridor in Uptown.
What Food Will Joey Maple Serve?
Joey’s menu focuses on what the restaurant describes as a “fusion of flavors,” with a broad selection of globally inspired dishes.
The menu includes fire-torched sushi, steak, bowls, tacos and burgers.
Some of the signature dishes mentioned in the article include top sirloin steak with fully loaded crispy mashed potatoes, hummus, seared salmon sushi and sake-glazed sea bass.
The menu also includes Japanese pork dumplings, Korean fried cauliflower, fajitas and lobster spaghetti with prawns, shallots, cherry tomatoes and lobster-lemon butter sauce.
For those looking for lighter or plant-based options, Joey also offers a tuna poke bowl and a tofu bowl with Korean chili-spiced tofu, wontons, coconut jasmine rice and green papaya slaw in carrot miso dressing.
There will also be sushi options, including a sushi cone with tempura shrimp.
The bar menu will include beer on tap, wine and cocktails. The article specifically highlights Taittinger Champagne and Pahlmeyer Chardonnay by the glass, along with Aperol, Rosé and Hugo spritzes, martinis, margaritas and slush cocktails such as frozen Irish coffee.
What Will the Uptown Dallas Location Look Like?
Joey restaurants are designed individually to match their surroundings, and the company says no two locations are alike.
The Uptown Dallas restaurant is going into a space that previously housed Crab House. Before that, the property was home to Sisu, a bar with a pool, and before that, Matthew Trent Jewelry.
Joey Maple will feature a “thoughtfully curated” art collection, which is one of the restaurant group’s trademarks. The location will also include a private dining space.
The article notes that additional details about the space are still to come.
There is also an interesting Canadian connection to the location itself. Joey landed on Maple Avenue, while maple is Canada’s national tree and the maple leaf is the central image on Canada’s national flag.
Joey Maple Adds Another Canadian Restaurant to Uptown Dallas
Joey Maple will also become a neighbor to another Canadian restaurant concept.
Moxie’s, a casual concept founded in Canada and co-owned by Dallas Stars proprietor Tom Gaglardi, is located across the street at 100 Crescent Court. Moxie’s opened there in 2016.
That means Uptown Dallas will have two Canadian restaurant concepts within close proximity to each other.
Maple Avenue Continues to Attract Restaurants
The Joey Maple opening is also part of a larger story happening along Maple Avenue.
According to the CultureMap Dallas article, Maple Avenue is becoming one of Dallas’ buzziest streets, with several notable restaurants either already operating in the area or opening there.
The article points to Catch Dallas, which opened at the Maple Terrace development in 2024, and Uchi Dallas, which opened on Maple Avenue in 2015.
Élephante, an Italian restaurant, is also opening at the 23Springs office tower in September.
The article also notes that these restaurants are positioned to serve traders at The New York Stock Exchange Texas, which is opening at 3819 Maple Ave., about a mile down the road.
My Take as a Dallas Realtor
In my opinion, the most interesting part of this story is not simply that another restaurant is opening in Uptown Dallas. It is the continued concentration of recognizable restaurants and businesses along Maple Avenue.
Joey Maple is joining an area that already has established dining destinations and more openings on the way. That makes Maple Avenue an interesting corridor to watch as Uptown Dallas continues to evolve.
I also think the fact that this is Joey’s second Dallas location is worth paying attention to. The company says the warm reception it received in Dallas helped encourage this expansion.
For people who live in Uptown Dallas, this means another dining option. For people considering the area, it is another example of how restaurants and other businesses contribute to the overall character and activity of a neighborhood.
As a Dallas Realtor, I pay attention to these types of local developments because when you’re evaluating a neighborhood, the surrounding environment matters too, not just the house itself.
