El Molino Opens Second Location at Preston Royal in Preston Hollow

El Molino, the Dallas Mexican restaurant known for wood-fired fajitas and Flaming Margaritas, is now open at Preston Royal Shopping Center in Preston Hollow.

The restaurant opened its second Dallas location on August 10, 2026, at 6025 Royal Ln., Ste. 250, taking over the former Anchor Sushi Bar space.

For Dallas residents, particularly those living around Preston Hollow, Preston Royal and North Dallas, the opening adds another destination to an already established dining area.

According to CultureMap Dallas, the expansion comes approximately 10 months after El Molino opened its original restaurant in Snider Plaza, where the concept quickly developed a following around its wood-fired fajita program and upscale neighborhood atmosphere.

A Larger El Molino Comes to Preston Royal

One of the biggest differences between the two locations is size.

The new Preston Royal El Molino spans approximately 6,000 square feet, making it significantly larger than the original 83-seat Snider Plaza location.

Despite the larger footprint, the restaurant says it intends to maintain the neighborhood feel associated with the original location while offering an expanded menu.

At the center of the menu is still El Molino’s signature wood-fired fajita program.

Guests can choose from options including USDA Prime tenderloin, grilled chicken, jumbo tiger shrimp, marinated prime ribeye and combination platters.

The menu also includes queso, elote corn chowder, fresh tuna nachos, tacos, enchiladas, salads and several larger entrées.

Some of the featured entrées include the Las Vegas Ribeye, Crispy Shrimp Brochette, Filet Mignon Famosa and Grilled Sonora Quail.

Flaming Margaritas and Daily Happy Hour

Drinks are also a major part of the El Molino experience.

The restaurant’s beverage program includes its signature Flaming Margarita, along with frozen margaritas in flavors such as passion fruit, pineapple jalapeño, cherry vanilla and mango.

The restaurant also serves handcrafted cocktails and sipping tequilas.

For people looking for a happy-hour option in Preston Hollow, the new location offers daily happy hour from 3–6 p.m. at the bar, featuring discounted frozen Flaming Margaritas, house margaritas and sangria.

What the Expansion Says About Preston Hollow

From my perspective as a Dallas Realtor who follows development, restaurants and neighborhood changes across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, this is the part of the story that stands out.

A restaurant expanding from Snider Plaza into Preston Royal shows how established Dallas neighborhoods continue to attract recognizable local concepts.

El Molino’s second location isn’t simply another restaurant opening in Dallas. It’s an expansion of a concept that had only been operating for about 10 months when the Preston Royal location opened.

CultureMap Dallas reported that the original Snider Plaza restaurant received significant acclaim and was nominated for Best New Restaurant in the 2026 CultureMap Tastemaker Awards.

The new Preston Hollow location also represents a strategic use of the former Anchor Sushi Bar space. According to Vandelay Companies founder, chairman and CEO Hunter Pond, the company determined that Anchor worked better in a more intimate footprint, while the larger Preston Royal space was better suited to El Molino’s higher-energy Tex-Mex concept.

My Take as a Dallas Realtor

I think El Molino is a notable addition to the Preston Hollow and Preston Royal dining scene.

When I talk about Dallas real estate, I don’t just look at homes. I also pay attention to the restaurants, retail, entertainment and neighborhood amenities that contribute to how an area feels and how people experience it.

For someone who lives in or around Preston Hollow, the addition of a larger El Molino location gives residents another nearby option for wood-fired fajitas, Mexican-inspired dishes and margaritas.

And for people who already know El Molino from Snider Plaza, the Preston Royal location gives the brand a significantly larger footprint in another established Dallas neighborhood.

If you’re exploring Preston Hollow, Preston Royal or North Dallas, this is one of the newest restaurant openings to have on your radar.
